  • Laptops running Windows Vista will really need to have at least 1GB of RAM, system memory, installed in order to function at an acceptable level of responsiveness. Vista will certainly run on only 512MB of memory but it will be rather annoyingly slow.


    Vista is very resource intensive and with all of the graphic features built-in to the operating system, 1GB will allow all of these features to run as they are intended while keeping your laptop computer from getting bogged down in your daily computing.


    The most popular laptop screen size is the 15.4 inch widescreen LCD which is measured diagonally. You can find this on many Dell yellow laptops like the Inspiron 1525 for example which provide a native resolution of 180 x 800 WXGA and more than 16 million colors.


    Many yellow laptops in our selection come with at least 2GB of DDR2 system memory installed which is plenty to run Windows Vista and provide excellent responsiveness.


    The overall portability that laptops offer in part depends on the laptop battery itself and unfortunately the lifespan of the battery is generally only up to a couple of years.     If you ever need to attempt to repair system files due to damaged or missing file errors popping up on your laptop screen you can use the “sfc /scannow” command without the quotes at the Run dialog box. You will likely need to have your Windows XP CD inserted into the cd drive BEFORE you run this command in order for it to work.
